Emer.

Nice to hear from you. You are descended from what I have called Tree # 16.
Stephen was a son of John (Hade) and Elizabeth Baxter. I have tried to put everything I know on the web site although it is still missing some detail.

I assume your grandparents were Thomas Hayde and Catherine Nugent.

David

The site is great and has more than I could have hoped for. I am the last member of my family to hold the name Hayde. Im trying to find out which tree my family belongs to. I have found my great grandfather John (locksmyth) on the 1901 census living with his father stephen.. would you be able to point me in the right direction of which family they were from.

Ken. I am in the process of updating the web site to reflect a lot of recent information gathered. It’s still a work in progress. I have seen those records of Patrick Hayde, who was a son of Michael born about 1830 and Margaret Maher. I am pretty sure he came from the Kildare/Wicklow area as I will explain in the web site. The records however are faded or incomplete so cannot be verified.

I have also seen the army records of Michael in the PRO in London.

Do you have any old photos of your parents/g parents I could share on this web site?

This is a very impressive piece of work. Well done.
My father was Michael Heade born 1878 to Patrick and Sarah of Donnybrook, Dublin. Michael joined the Royal Dublin Fusiliers in 1896 and served in the second Boer war from 1900 to 1902. When he was discharged he joined the Royal Field Artillery from 1902 to 1905. He was transferred to the Reserve but was called up again in 1914. He was honourably discharged in 1919. I have seen records referring to his father as Patrick Hayde and we Heades were often called Hayde when I was growing up in Donnybrook which still had a village feel to it back then. I think I noticed that you have Patrick as the son of another Michael, a tailor in tree #16. I can’t see where Michael came from. If you can steer me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

His Y dna test has confirmed this as he has matched closely with a MacQuillan who is now in Australia but lived in ireland till the 1950s and his family are from Armagh. However i have recently had an autosomal test done on Ancestry and my closest match as been with the lady i believe has dna tested for this One Family project – a Trudi Hayde. So possibly somewhere in my husbands line – possibly in Dublin – there is a Hayde marriage which I have not found. The match was flagged as “very high” and possibly fourth cousin although I dont know how accurate that is.
